BAYER
Heart & Kidney
Bayer is a Life Science company with a more than 150-year history and core competencies in the areas of health care and agriculture to prevent, alleviate and treat diseases. To represent Bayer's market-leading research in the cardiovascular and cardiorenal fields, we were commissioned by Grey Healthcare to produce a brand campaign embodying the company's motto: “Science for a better life.”
PRE PRODUCTION | CONCEPT
Working with the client, we studied the various tools and equipment that would be used in research and treatment of cardiovascular and cardiorenal diseases, combining these to build a structure of a heart and kidney. From this, we created several concepts and pre-visualisations to determine the built of each organ and the movement of the liquid inside the glass and metallic sculpture. The aim was to make the fluid, representative of blood, look like it was pumping as it would through a real heart and kidney.
SHOOT PRODUCTION | BEHIND THE SCENES
Simon Thorpe shot the background at Bonneville Salt Flats and used an HDRI specific to the scene which allowed for realistic reflections and lighting on the CGI elements.
POST PRODUCTION | CGI & RETOUCH
The challenge was to create beautiful liquid simulations that flow within a glass sculpture, carefully crafted shots revealed in macro moments with reflections in the glass, bubbles in the liquid and caustics refracting through glass.
