CLARITIN-D
From shoot to delivery we worked alongside energy BBDO in Chicago to deliver this spot for Claritin D Breezy from concept to completion. An in-house 360 degree production with multiple deliverables and an exciting shoot down in Buenos Aires. Our director, Jason Guerrero worked with our in-house team of producers, CG artists, animators, VFX supervisors and compositors to bring this spot to life. Illustrating just how effective Claritin’s allergy medications are at relieving allergies, we saw our heroes being swept through scenes from indoors to out.
PRE-PRODUCTION ︱ STORYBOARD
Detailed storyboards helped us define the overarching narrative and creative vision to the client, agency and production crew. Working through these alongside Director Jason, the team built out detailed descriptions of each scene along with clear visuals that described the camera movement, talent performance and overall motion in each shot.
PRE-PRODUCTION ︱ Design frames
Design frames are a critical part of the overall creative vision. Alongside our director, we work on these frames to provide a visual guide on how the end card would come to life and align with the creative within the TV spot as the elements flew into frame, mimicking the wind.
PRE-PRODUCTION ︱ shot lists
Shot lists formed a critical part of building the brief in the pre-production phase. Utilizing the animatic for timing cues, we ensured we had detailed notes from our director which we could supply to our talented South American crew to hit the critical timings points to tell the story in :15 seconds. This also helps make sure we spend as much time as possible on set capturing varied performances rather than worrying about logistics which can eat into critical shoot time.
PRE-PRODUCTION ︱ ANIMATIC
The animatic, produced by Director Jason, is critical in aligned not just the shoot crew but also the agency team, client and also the post. This acts as the glue that binds the production together so everyone knows what they are working towards capturing on set and in post. Alignment on this in the early phases of production really helped us check ourselves both on set and in post to make sure we hit critical timing points for each of our TVC’s.
live action︱BEHIND THE SCENEs
Beunos Aires here we come! We headed down to South America where the sun was shining and the grass was green to bring this spot to life. Working with a highly talent crew within the local market we were able to build out the Pharmacy set and park scene. We had the talent on tracks in the pharmacy shot to “blow” him through the scene as he finds his new sense of breathing relief!
PRODUCTION ︱ CG MODELS
Utilizing CG, we produced a variety of elements for the end card and also for the shots themselves to supplement the wind elements and amplify the sense of decongestant. We had our VFX supervisor on set to capture HDRIs, shot and camera information and general lighting so we could match our CG elements to the interior and exterior shots as closely as possible.
