Cannes Lion
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is a global celebration of the best creative work and innovation. Engine and the Department for International Trade wanted to leverage the festival's wide impact and to show off the UK’s creative talent to the international crowd of 16,000+ attendees. To do that, we created a series of digital installations around the Cannes Lions Festival. Every time a British winner was announced, a heroic animated Lion gave a celebratory roar and send out congratulatory messages on digital billboards up and down the Croisette.
The Lion was created to be striking and grab attention on the busy streets of Cannes. After developing several different looks, we went for a blue, white and red color scheme inspired by the Union Jack flag and to symbolize the British advertising industry.
