FORD MUSTANG
Virtual Augmented Reality App
Ford was launching a right-hand drive version of the Mustang, the first time that option was made available in Europe. In partnership with Blue Hive and AR company Kudan, we helped the vehicle make a virtual splash with an app that lets the user view and configure their own version of Mustang.
AR requires good quality but lightweight data, we worked with the files and reduced the polygon count from over 50 million polygons to around 100 thousand. We then rigged and animated the roof mechanism for the droptop version of the car. Together with Kudan, we identified the best way to apply materials and vehicle options to make the digital vehicle look as good as the real car.
