KLONDIKE
What would you do for a Klondike — bar, sandwich, cone or shake? This year, Klondike introduced two new products, the Klondike Shakes and Cones. With this in mind, Klondike was looking to create a fun campaign, and a library of images for future use.
PITCH | AGENCY BRIEF
The agency's brief was a fantastic starting point - they presented a high energy campaign that we were excited to build upon.
PITCH ︱ style frame
Our goal with the CGI products was to create mouth-watering images that viewers will want to reach out and grab. The look and feel was to be fun, quirky and clever, punctuated with bold colors that evoke nostalgia and a sense of childlike wonder.
PRODUCTION | TABLETOP (reference) SHOOT
We, with directing duo The Kaplans, shot most of the deliverables, but not all. This decision was made to show each product at their most tasty, and a lot of the images were to serve as texture reference, to use CGI for final delivery. Using the photos for reference allows for photoreal imagery that can be used again for future campaigns later on.
PRE-RPRODUCTION | CGI MODEL
The photos shot by the Kaplans were then used to create CGI models. This approach creates a great mix of photorealism and subtle surrealism. Also, from a technical perspective, using CGI modeling gives us ultimate control over the images. We can render the products from any angle, and replace or add elements as needed.
