Right when the COVID-19 crisis hit, one of tech’s big five companies reached out. They were looking for a creative team to become a true extension of their in-house design team and lead the production of B2B materials such as presentations, playbooks and leave-behinds, as well as the creation of content for internal comms and Social Media channels.
Retained Model
A fully dedicated team, working under a retained model, seemed the most convenient solution. The creatives would be immersed into Facebook’s complex brand ecosystem, becoming brand experts and guardians, and the workflow would be most streamlined. With no need to bid constantly, teams can really focus on the work and turnaround times decrease.
Always-On Model
Taylor James’s internal workflow was modified to best suit the brand’s needs, adopting their project and asset management platforms. For project requestors, there was no difference between working internally or with our team.
This immersive approach allowed the team to gain a deep brand knowledge quickly. We were able to produce high-quality work at a high volume, and even develop the company templates further to generate new work efficiencies and expedite timelines throughout the partnership.

The design team was designed to efficiently respond to the volume estimates provided by the brand. However, it went the extra mile, offering the brand the possibility to flex up during workload peaks, bringing in additional design support when necessary at no extra cost. This flexible retained solution allowed the brand to keep costs under control while having immediate access to expert design services — a key factor during the COVID-19 crisis, a period that forced all businesses to endure a deep transformation.
