PELOTON
Tread+
After a successful collaboration on their Bike+ launch, Peloton came to us for the release of the Tread+, the newest edition to their Peloton Tread family. Additionally, they wanted us to give their current treadmill model the TJ treatment to create consistency across their site.
PRE PRODUCTION | WIRE FRAME
First, we begin the process of converting the CAD data files, provided to us by the client, into geometry that we can animate. This meticulous process simplifies data that would be otherwise too complex for our artists to work with. Once converted, the geometry is used to create our animations, and is sent to our lighting department for look development.
PRE PRODUCTION | PREVIS
In this stage, we visualize how the product will look. Our work begins to resemble the Tread.
FINAL
Our ultracareful pre production phase paves the way to a final product that is incredibly photoreal. Clients can watch the Tread's animated launch film, or see still images of what the machine could look like in their home.
Tread AR
Augmented Reality has greatly impacted consumers’ ability to shop from home. We created the Tread in ARto be launched directly from a website, or with a QR code. The treadmill launches at real-world size so consumers can see the equipment in their home, and even walk around it to check out all its features.
PRE PRODUCTION | BEHIND THE SCENES
Our production process for AR still uses the same skills as a traditional CGI process. We use a PBR shader workflow to ensure the materials perform correctly within different lighting scenarios. We retopologise the model prior to build, to make sure it is optimised for a fast download onto the user’s device.
