Working with Volvo Cars UK we created an AR viewer of the new XC40 model to work in Quick Look, Apple's quick preview feature to display virtual objects in 3D or AR. With this, you can see what the new XC40 would look like in you driveway before purchasing.

We took a CG model of an XC40 and then put it into Quick Look so that potential customers could look at the Volvo website, activate the model in both iOS and Android and then place an AR model of the vehicle wherever. This worked through the browser without potential customers having to download an app, as people are more and more less likely to download an app. 

We used standard automotive asset pipeline, but with optimized meshes and data sets. We employed a PBR rendering pipeline to allow greater environmental integration and provided the finished files to Volvo UK who integrated them into their website.
